WOSCIN Marks 25 Years of Empowerment and Transformation

The globally recognized NGO, Women Support and Care Initiative International (WOSCIN), marked its 25th anniversary with a major empowerment and skill-building event in Ijebu-Igbo, Ogun State, on November 8, 2025. This milestone also coincided with the 60th birthday of WOSCIN’s President and Founder, Pastor (Dr.) Mrs. Omolara Quadry (née Onasile).

Having been established 25 years ago, WOSCIN has played a leading role in fostering opportunities for women and youth both within Nigeria and across the globe. Its registration with national and international regulatory bodies affirms the NGO’s credibility. Through various programs focused on improving livelihoods, reducing poverty, and boosting self-reliance, WOSCIN continues to positively transform lives.

During her speech, Pastor (Dr.) Mrs. Omolara Quadry expressed deep appreciation to God and the guests present, highlighting the significance of celebrating both her diamond jubilee and the inaugural graduation ceremony of the WOSCIN Skill Acquisition Program in Ijebu-Igbo.

“For a quarter of a century, our organization has dedicated itself to empowering women and young people. We offer vocational training, computer education, agricultural development, health initiatives, and strong advocacy against domestic violence and gender bias. Our aim is to instill hope and open doors for those in need,” she stated.

She encouraged program graduates to leverage their newly learned skills and uplift those around them, emphasizing that empowerment breeds lasting progress.

Graduates received their certificates, and some beneficiaries were equipped with laptops and financial aid to help them advance. Twelve individuals sponsored at Sammy Technology Institute received digital skills training, while three were gifted laptops through WOSCIN’s commitment to youth empowerment.

Alongside the training activities, attendees—especially women and widows from rural areas—were given foodstuffs, cash, and palliative support. This gesture reflects WOSCIN’s tradition of providing humanitarian assistance, such as clean water, nutritional help, and essential goods in underserved communities.

The event was attended by esteemed personalities from all over Ogun State. Among them was Hon. Ogunnowo Adedeji (commonly known as MC Jazzy), Special Adviser to the Ijebu North Local Government Chairman on Community Development, serving as the Special Guest of Honour. He acknowledged WOSCIN’s dedicated service to the less privileged and assured continued support for its mission of boosting self-reliance and community development.

The day’s celebrations were marked by joy and heartfelt thanks. Beneficiaries expressed profound gratitude to WOSCIN and its founder for giving them the opportunity to acquire new skills and improve their standard of living.

Looking ahead, WOSCIN is preparing to launch its 25,000 Impact Project in February 2026, in tandem with its anniversary celebrations. This ambitious program aims to assist 25,000 women, youths, and families by providing training, mentorship, and support for entrepreneurs across Nigeria, Canada, and the United States. The organization is welcoming partners and sponsors to join in making this initiative a reality.

Celebrating 25 years of service, WOSCIN remains steadfast in its mission to empower women and youth, bridge economic gaps, and build a more inclusive society.
